I am, and always have been, a reasonably tolerant individual. I count amount my very best friends an American of African descent who happens to be a practicing Muslim. I have invited and accepted the company of all races and religions at events I've organized and attended. All that said, if Ilhan Omar is a reflection of the attitudes and beliefs of Somalis in American, you will soon have lost the trust and tolerance of all but the most ignorant and naive Americans. She is bringing discredit on the entire Somali community and eventually the backlash, although peaceful, with be total ostracism.
