These 12 Stories from 2016 Made Somali Women (and Girls) Rule the Headlines

From Editors – As 2016 comes to an end, we wanted to look back to see how Somalis ruled the news this year. These 11 stories are just some of the stories All Things Somali brought to you this year. We will be doing a look back of Somali men (and boys) as well in a separate article.

Muna ’16 was one of thirty students from across the nation to serve as a Page in the U.S. Senate in the summer of 2015.

12 – Malala Yousafzai, Youngest Nobel Peace Prize winner, met with young Somali girls in Minneapolis
